About

Lisa Staffelbach - Personal Chef, Cooking Instructor, and Health Coach

I want to help you be your best and eat in a way that supports your health. I know about this from study and personal experience. I attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City and studied with Paul Pitchford who wrote Healing with Whole Foods in Indonesia. I pursued both of those learning experiences looking for answers to my own health problems.

I have been diagnosed twice with cancer: once with uterine fibroids and about 10 years later with thyroid cancer. Fortunately, I did not have cancer either time, but my body was developing tumors and I believed it was food related. Auto-immune problems also go hand in hand with thyroid problems and I had a lot of symptoms that suggested auto-immune problems and low immunity as well. I have made it my business to make sure that I would never have these diagnoses again.

Having my thyroid removed gave me a whole new set of challenges that nearly ruined my health. After much study and help I finally found a plan that has allowed me to regain my health and vitality. For most people it would be extreme, but for me it was necessary. I maintain a special diet so I am very familiar with the importance of this for some of us. I continually study diet and health to keep up with the latest information to benefit my clients. You can be assured I will take your dietary and weight loss concerns seriously.

In 2010 I studied whole foods nutrition and preparation, traditional Chinese medical theory and assessment, health plan design, Tai Ji and Qi Gong as healing movement, and awareness practices with Paul Pitchford author of Healing With Whole Foods: Asian Traditions and Modern Nutrition and an expert in Traditional Chinese Medicine and food as medicine in Bali, Indonesia.

In 2008 - 2009 I received my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. Drawing on this knowledge, I can help you create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.
